Not to mention that I enjoy road trips (Like one that covered about 800 miles and included the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and the Saguaro National Park. Or another that covered the entire Eastern Sea Coast). I have also gone skiing in Montreal (East Canada) and Banff (West Canada), as well as Park City (Utah), and numerous East Coast Mountains. I like to be barefoot- it makes everything better. I don't like to describe myself... I enjoy playing, writing and listening to music. I play drums, guitar, bass, and i sing, but normally when i'm with myself. I'm in to most kind of music, but hardcore and indie rock are my favorite. Trying to find just three adjectives to describe myself is hard. I could have put so many in there. I am many things. In my spare time I love to sail, ski, scuba dive, play tennis. I even like golfing although I am still working on hitting the ball. I have been skydiving twice and hope to do it again. I donâ??t drink coffee (caffeine doesn't agree with me) but I love the atmosphere in coffee shops. I am a dual citizen of the US and Switzerland, French was my first language. Animal rights and environmental issues are very important to me.

I am a vegetarian and I mostly try to be vegan. Sometimes I even eat raw. Although I am not insane about it I would like to meet someone who is at least willing to think about the food they eat and be flexible and open minded.

When I am not doing all of the things I enjoy I can be found stuck in the office. Actually, as much as it stressed me out I love my job! I am an entrepreneur at heart and am working as an exec at a startup until I have my big idea and start my own company. Besides, Iâ??d rather be stressed than bored.

I'm a writer and an educator. I work for an urban university where I help people who are educationally disadvantaged become more literate and more knowledgeable. I am most interested in my own inner life and the inner lives of others--what you can't see; what's below the surface or just beyond it. I write because that's one way in.

I'm interested in meeting someone who has the same passions I have; who asks the same questions and wants to talk about them. Right now, I'm not looking for Mr. Right, just someone who I can "click" with for the time being. Someone who's smart, educated, and whose conversation reflects that, but who also knows how to be kind.

I'm not big on self-revelation until you get to know me (then you can't shut me up) but the basics are these: I'm not ambitious, at least not in the traditional sense. I've spent my life in and around the City, mostly in. At heart, I love the culture, entertainment value and random craziness of New York, but I've come to like, even love, the green spaces of Westchester as well.

I guess you could say I'm a typical WASPy liberal, although truth be told, politics don't interest me all that much. I'm a Buddhist not in the sense that I worship a statue of the Buddha or even meditate religiously. I needed a spiritual dimension to my life, Christianity didn't do it for me, and I've found some of the insights of Buddhism to be immensely helpful to me in every day life.

Things I like to do include city things like looking at art, eating out, movies, talking and outside things like hiking, bird watching, kayaking (I don't own a kayak), the beach.

Hey, guy next door here. Talking myself up is a little challenging, but here goes. I am a teacher (4 years now). I teach the 4th grade in the Bronx. I used to work in finance, but came to realize that I hated it.
Teaching is great, even with the everyday nonsense you get from the administration. You have to get used to it, you don't have a choice! I just close the classroom door and try to do what's best for my students. I love teaching and hopefully in the next year I'll find a position here in Westchester, instead of the Bronx.
I'm in the process of getting out of a very long term relationship and as a result, I sometimes feel ill equiped at going out and meeting new people. I used to be a tremendously confident person, but being cheated on and lied to for so long has changed that.

WOW, that sounded a little pathetic (lol) perhaps I should say that while yes, it sucked I am now trying to get that confidence back by getting out there again and having some fun...doing some living...

I like to go to bars to hang out, play darts and watch a game but find that they are not always the best place to meet people.
I play darts in a league (I was 8th place on the league all-star list and my team won the divisional championship last season - YEA!). I love the outdoors and even though I know it sounds crazy I love doing yard work. Cutting the grass and trimming the hedges, blah blah blah...I love it all.
