NEW YORK Mount Vernon found itself competing with the best the tri-state area had to offer Tuesday at the 76th Eastern States Track and Field Championships at the Armory Track and Field Center. Then they found that their 800-meter relay teams were in fact the best.

A Mohegan Lake man who drove away from a domestic dispute in which he allegedly restrained a woman and kept her from leaving her residence was among 12 motorists charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol this past weekend, state police said today.
